Karamihan ng Tao ay Pu!

Reviews - Biofeedback 7"
Mutilated Noise

Now this has been a long time coming. I got these a couple of months ago but this is the first time that I'm actually sitting down and putting one for a spin. This is Biofeedback's 7" from Mutilated Noise titled "Karamihan ng Tao ay Pu". It features 4 songs of blistering hardcore from Laguna's finest. For anyone who's not familiar with the band, this is a good introduction to the once and mighty BFK.

Manila Klasiko - Labor Day gig

Manila Klasiko
Black King's Bar - West Avenue
May 1, 2014

Let me just say, to start off, I had high hopes for this gig considering that it was held on Labor's Day and just by looking at the line-up, classic na classic. Pero what turned out to be a promising night turned into a slight disappointment for me. Maybe I just missed out on the other bands that night, oh well. And pardon if I missed out on the songs, my memory's not to be trusted. Note to self, next time, bring a notebook dumdum. On to the night.

Punk Reigns, Animals Rule! - M.Y.O. interview

Make Your Own folks interview
- conducted ages ago

One of the things that I'd like to read in a zine is yung thoughts and ideas of people connected to the undergound pero ung walang mga banda o not involved sa musical aspect ng scene. Tingin ko, these people always have valid ideas when it comes to the scene in general. Zinemakers, distro runners, etc. all contribute in their own DIY way and it's always inspiring to read about them. I had an interview once through mail of Gani behind Make Your Own and had recently asked permission to have this interview posted dito sa blog and he agreed ( thanks a lot!! ). Read and enjoy.

And they say "Dead Boys" tell no tales...

Cheetah Chrome: A Dead Boy's Tale: From the Front Lines of Punk Rock
Book Review
02/27/2014

One of the things that I'd like to do when I have time to go out is look for cheap finds whether it be books, clothes, records, what have you. Often times, I am pleasantly surprised by what you can find just looking around at these types of stores. From DIY self help books to out of print records, magazines, to rare t-shirt designs ( had bought an Epitaph shirt of Joe Strummer's Mescaleros once,in an ukay of all places ) to D&D books, basta whatever. And on a recent trip to the bargain bins, here is what I found:

Stirrings...

- The Biofeedback 7" - Karamihan ng Tao ay Pu' is now available c/o Noel Punxia @ mutilatednews.blogspot.com. I still have to get myself a copy. I'm thinking of carrying a few copies kaya lang 'alang budget pa. I remember ung copy ng Hard Times tape ko, was pleasantly surprised to see it sa Sarabia optical shop from UP ( University of the Pu' ) back in the day ( wonder if it's still open? ). Anyway, do yourself a favor and go get one if you missed out on Hard Times. One of the more unique hardcore acts to ever come out of the P.I. Get one so you won't feel like you're "The World's Most Ugliest Man" ( or woman...errr...).
